Warm Up With These Winter Resources

· · ·

Winter is filled with highs and lows for students and teachers. In terms of highs, both can look forward to watching snowfall and playing in it with family and friends. Additionally, the winter may also result in a snow day or two! In terms of lows, winter means bundling up in many layers, spending more time inside, and getting sick. One similarity in the highs and lows involves being cold! Thus, students need exciting and enjoyable lessons to help energize them! Thankfully, students can warm up with these winter resources to stay nice and toasty while showing how much they know!

Build a Snowman Classroom Management Game

Since students spend so much time inside during the winter, they can get a bit antsy. While they do not mean to misbehave, it can be hard to contain so much energy. From indoor recess to not running outside after school, little bodies are struggling to sit in a chair and focus! Thus, this classroom management game is perfect to use. Teachers and students will decide a behavior focus and choose a class reward. Then, as students show positive behavior, the class will add on moveable parts to build a snowman! Truly, students will have so much fun as they build their snowman for making positive choices.

Whenever snow is expected, students are excited to build a snowman. However, it can be hard to predict how much snow will arrive each winter. They will use graphic organizers in order to ensure they do not leave off a critical step of building. Ultimately, this craft even creates an adorable hallway decoration.
