Cute Valentine Craft For Your Students

·

The winter months bring a special feeling to the classroom. From using creativity during indoor recess to sharing snow day memories, the winter creates perfect conversation starters. Additionally, students are so excited to celebrate another holiday as Valentine’s Day approaches! Sadly, some celebrations can only last for an hour or two due to needing to utilize every minute for instructional purposes. Thankfully, the Valentine Box Craft is the ideal way to incorporate creative fun with essential skills. Students will never forget creating a cereal-sly cute Valentine craft!

Valentine Box Craft

Students LOVE passing out Valentine’s Day cards to their classmates. However, it can be hard to keep track of so many little cards. Thus, teachers will often find valentines down the hallway and up the bus steps. Hence, students are sad when they get home and find out they are missing their cards. Thankfully, the craft box ensures this no longer happens!

Parent Involvement

To implement this craft, students need a wrapped cereal box. Since teachers are busy, the purchase includes a parent letter that explains how the box needs cut and wrapped. There are even pictures to ensure this step is not stressful for parents.

Respecting Diversity for the Valentine’s Day Craft

After the boxes are in class, it is time to get started! There are templates for the different parts, such as the face, hair, and arms. Teachers can print the templates and copy them in skin-tone colors that best match their students.

Decorations

Before students start, it is helpful to collect different ways they can decorate their boxes. I love to use paper hearts, bows, and stickers! For the face, I love to use googly eyes! However, sticker eyes still make this a cereal-sly cute Valentine craft!

Putting Everything Together

It is so much fun to watch students put their card boxes together! Students can select their needed templates, such as the face shape, hair, and arms. Oftentimes, it is helpful to attach these items one step at a time. Then, students can add on their decorations. For instance, girls may love to add cute bows to accessorize their hair. The purchase even includes printable name tags to ensure no one takes the wrong box!

Skill-Based Focus

Teachers have so much content to get through each year. Whether this involves standards or skills, every day is busy. Thankfully, this craft contains an academic focus to maximize learning time. For example, students are working on following directions, which is essential! Additionally, they can communicate and collaborate with classmates while working. This practice is necessary as students continue to work on more assignments together. Honestly, students will be having fun while working on skills needed to be successful in and out of the classroom.
