Give the Gift of Compliments This Season

I’m so excited to be linking up with my fellow bloggers who I am fortunate to collaborate on the I Teach Second blog. This month we are doing a holiday linky party, so please make sure after you read my post about classroom compliments, that you go check out the other fabulous bloggers who also have shared fabulous holiday ideas!
Give students compliments in the classroom to build a positive classroom environment.
This year I have focused on being a positive example to my students. If I’m positive and pointing out positive behavior, in return the students will model my positive attitude and behavior throughout the year. This year I started using Teacher Thoughts in my classroom. Each month I have different compliment cards that are notes that I attach to completed work, hide them in spots where students will surprisingly find them and hand out when a student is recognized for something positive they are doing in the classroom. My students have built confidence in themselves with these Teacher Thoughts and I enjoy seeing their little faces light up when they earn one. What better gift can a teacher give then compliments to build a positive classroom environment.

Use these teacher notes to build a positive classroom environment by giving student compliments.

  1. Aw, it's so cute! I'm sure that it is really important to say thank you to your students. This is the thing that a lot of teachers neglect. They think that it is really not so important, since the children are young. But it's not working in this way. Maybe you were reading testimonials on writingelites? they said about thankfulness not long ago.

  2. Invite your friends and family to play a video game you like. You can spend time with them, catch up on old times and play your favorite game. You never know, they may want to buy it for themselves so you can play together from the comfort of your own homes.
