October’s Creative Celebration

Promote kindness in your classroom and build friendships with your students using The Creative Classroom’s Friendship Grams. Setting up Friendship Grams in your classroom is very easy to do. First, decide if you are going to use the color or black and white version of this file. Once you have decided, print and copy. Cut the sheet in half horizontally giving you two copies of the student version. Students will color the desk tent and write a nice note to the peer they are going to give the Friendship Gram to. They will leave the desk tent and note on their friend’s desk. You can do this secretly or place in classroom mailboxes if you have those.

Once a student has received a Friendship Gram they then have to keep the kindness going and do the same with another classmate that hasn’t received one. Desk tents should be left on student’s desk who have received a friendship gram that way others will know who has and hasn’t received one.

You can have a couple going at a time to ensure all students will receive one by the end of the given time. I typically do it for a 2-3 week period and I start the first two and then my students do the rest.

Teachers can be creative with Friendship Grams and can add a little treat or something that students may give with the Gram. A small treat or fun pencil or toy can be fun as well if you would like to do more.
