Brighten Your Bulletin Board with Paper Fan Garlands
Hey teacher! I’ve got a BRIGHT idea for back to school! Do you have a love for paper, pens and other classroom supplies? Over the summer, I spent some time cleaning and organizing my classroom and realized I have a bit of shopping problem and have too much paper. But then I reminded myself that teachers can never have too much paper!
My very favorite paper that I always keep stocked in my classroom is Astrobrights® Paper and Cardstock Packs. I use a variety of different colors, and I love the quality and color choices in the paper packs offered at Walmart.
Let me show you an easy project to use some of that paper you have stocked in your classroom. I am creating a DIY paper fan garland that is the perfect addition to any of your back to school bulletin boards.
Here are the supplies you need for this project:
- Astrobrights® Paper Pack of your choice
- Glue Stick
- Scissors
- Pencil
- String or yarn
Follow the steps below to make your paper garland and check out the video if you are still needing help assembling your paper fans.
Directions:
- Cut a 5-inch (diameter) circle as a template to use to trace. Trace 6 circles on the Astrobrights® Paper of your choice.
- Cut the circles out carefully. You can also use a paper punch or cutting tool that would make this step easier if you have one.
- Fold the 6 circles in half and crease well.
- While folded, begin gluing half the circle to the next folded circle. You will layer the folded circles on top of each other until you do all 6 circles.
- Let the glue completely dry then open up to see the fanned circle you created.
- To add these to a bulletin board, string the yarn or string across the top of the bulletin board and then start placing the paper fan circles across the string by stapling.
