How To Carve a Pumpkin Writing Activity
This past week my second graders learned how to sequence the steps of how to carve a pumpkin. This skill is one we are practicing all year long. The students loved having a craft activity that went along with their writing. We started by thinking about the steps it would take to carve a pumpkin. Next the students drafted their steps in their own writing using the planning sheet below.
After we went through our peer editing we then began to publish our writing on our final copies. Once the writing and illustrations were completed, we then moved to making our pumpkins!
My second graders loved how they turned out and enjoy seeing their work hanging on our wall outside of our classroom.
This is a perfect week to do a fun writing activity like this one. Click on the image below and go ahead and purchase this in my store today! Happy Halloween!
